If you’re a Battlefield Premium PC member, then the wait should end today for DICE’s new Battlefield 3 DLC, Armored Kill. A staggered release for the downloadable content started last week, as PS3 Premium members got first dibs on Armored Kill. Effective today, Premium members on the PC and Xbox 360 platforms should be able to access the DLC. As for everyone else, Armored Kill, which boasts of the “Biggest Map in BF History”, will drop later in September. Don’t worry, guys, we’re close to the midway point of September, so it shouldn’t be much longer before non-Premium gamers can enjoy this ambitious piece of content from the folks at DICE.
Several fixes were announced yesterday for Armored Kill, and according to DICE lead designer Gustav Halling, they should be ready either late this week or early next week for all versions of the DLC. As these would be server side updates, players won’t need to do a thing on their end – talk about convenience! PC gamers would want to pay attention to the fix for the Alborz Mountains Conquest Large – there have been some problems noticed with the Russian attack helicopter being unavailable on the spawn menu. This bug should be fixed on the update, same with earlier problems with the Proximity Defense feature of Mobile Artillery and Gunship gameplay.
If you need a little refresher on what to expect from Armored Kill, DICE’s press release says it all. This excerpt, however, should be all you need to know on Armored Kill, which will cost $14.99 for non-Premium members:
Gamers will jump in the seat of tanks, ATV’s, mobile artillery and an aerial gunship that lets gamers rain death from above as they traverse across four huge maps ranging from the snow-capped peaks of Alborz Mountains to the arid vistas of Bandar Desert – the largest multiplayer map in Battlefield history. Also making its debut in Battlefield 3: Armored Kill is Tank Superiority, a dangerously intense gameplay mode where two opposing tank platoons must battle it out for control of a single location on the map until one team has fully bled their opponent’s respawn tickets dry.
