Today Mojang (team behind the legendary Minecraft) released a pre-Alpha game-play footage, saying that they would like to have players feedback. Scrolls should be collectible cards mmo, featuring pvp matches, p vs AI matches, deck builders or for example auction house for cards exchange (which IMHO will be a micro-transaction/virtual goods platform). Earlier Bethesda was suing Mojang for using “Scrolls” in their name. Which (again IMHO) was not a very smart move from Bethesda as if they would not sue at the first place – no one would ever even consider to make a connection between the two games (Mojang – Scrolls, and Bethesda Elder Scrolls series). Though of course we can look at the game as a potential Skyrim minigame (you see what i did there?). No further delays here comes the footage in all its glory:

Personally I am not impressed, at all.  A lot of things are going to change, but still – you can see the core mechanics of the game and already now you know that we ve already seen it.  As Schwarzenegger will always be Terminator, or as Radcliffe will be Harry Potter – Mojang will always be Minecraft.  Not sure how exactly the saying goes but “all new things are just forgotten old ones”  same applies for Minecraft  (where Infiniminer could be a potential grand-parent), Scrolls of course will be a re-work of existing game mechanics, the question is will they achieve similar success? (or at least get anywhere near it…)

  1. Bethesda are bunch of loosers, as far as I know Mojang won and the game is going to be fantastic
