In what has become an annual ritual or sorts, it looks like Activision is poised to announce the next Call of Duty game on Tuesday, May 1st. Considering the overwhelming success that the franchise has enjoyed for the past several years, the announcement will undoubtedly set the gaming community ablaze. While Activision has not yet revealed the name of its yearly rendition, critics and fans alike believe that it will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. If history is any indicator, the game will be released in November – right in time for the holiday blitz.

Whether the next Call of Duty will serve as a huge evolution over prior iterations or merely an incremental upgrade is yet to be seen.
