In the previous two posts we’ve been talking about low ELO and how to handle it if you wish to improve your rating from there. Today is a little different, today we’ll be talking about mid level ELO, high silver to ~high gold. Of course you have to keep the basics in mind even here, but at this point you aren’t forced to carry your team completely anymore, which means you can be less greedy and more of a teamplayer.
You should no longer expect to win the matches before 20 minutes, yes it’s still possible at this level, but it may also backfire horribly. When you reach the mid level ELO you may go back to farm depentant champions which you should avoid at low ELO. Even support is not such a bad idea anymore once you get out of the lower parts of silver, as at this point the support role is starting to be truly helpful. Just keep in mind that Clairvoyance as a summonerspell is not need unless you have a premade team, so you can get heal or exhaust instead when you’re playing soloqueue.
It is still somewhat possible for you to solocarry at this point, but keep in mind that the difference in people is huge between 1000 ELO and 1500 ELO so don’t expect to carry every single game. Also, people are beginning to use a lot more wards when you get to this particular level and above, which makes solo carrying so much harder as you lose the element of surprise in many situations.
If you got up from low ELO to mid ELO the hard way, in other words by playing a lot of games, just trying everything to get out of there, this will be a huge relief for you, as believe it or not, people are no longer acting like robots. Although there are those who have been boosted up to this point, and still have no clue what they’re doing, so don’t just blindly trust your team mates.
