As i am getting used to the feeling that i can actually run games and not play them as turn based strategy … I am looking to buy additional gaming equip. Part of this temptation is provided by the fact that i suck so badly at COD: BO that it definitely must be the old Genius Netscroll mouse fault. This device actually survived a lot of my personal preferences for other track devices – as I am just used to it.

It is hard to find a proper mouse for myself as I have quite a big hand, long fingers  (no, not an ET) and i hate “easy press buttons”. Into the grande finale following competitors had arrived:

1. Logitech G9x

Very nice device, for a decent price (on discount). A lot of different mods, weights etc. Will not get into much detail – but the mouse is just too small, and the wheel is position in such way that i have to move the finger backwards to reach it… not a COD game winner.

2. Logitech G500 and G700

Solid grip, filling the palm. Though i do not like the buttons limitation near the cord (G700 also has a cord)  as I can feel them. Side buttons are also quite small so in the rage of killing spree i will not have time to search with my thumb were the freaking grenade throw is.

3. Razer DeathAdder

I did not have an opportunity to check the mouse myself – but i do like it, palm grip – not too ergonomic, two big side buttons, no additional led lights or any crap like that.  There is also Razer Mamba… not sure if the difference is anything big (the price for Mamba is 2x) personally i did not find any sympathy for it as it has no cord, led lights etc etc.

4. Roccat Kone Plus Gaming

Also did not had a chance to meet Mr. Kone in person but it was suggested for the people with big palms/fingers.

In the end I suppose the decision will be made between Razor and Roccat… I will see about that later – probably comparing them by the size of the mouse.

Update:  16/04 = Well… even though Roccat Kone is a really great mouse, BF3 with it is like a dream. After only about a month of using there is a small problem already. The mouse wheel is not reacting properly, in order for it to move where you want you actually have to press it quite hard – otherwise is just randomly jumps all around.

  1. I don’t like it, on this article you’re showing us your are terribly biased, but well, we need some of both worlds.
